• On December 1, look for the release of AMWA-NW chapter member Naida Grunden’s new book entitled The Pittsburgh Way to Efficient Healthcare: Applying Toyota-based Improvements to Healthcare.

Naida says the book “describes the work of the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative, which since 2001 has been implementing small experiments in Toyota-lean in various hospitals throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania with great success. The work there set the foundation for part of the IHI’s 100,000 Lives campaign and its current work on MRSA. My book details a couple-dozen case studies of implementation and improvement.”
